Mother’s Day Weekend festivities

“The World’s Best Crystal Glass”

As we’ve evolved, one thing wine glass developers have noticed is the faux pas of tipping over a glass of Sauvignon Blanc is more heart-wrenching when the glass breaks.  Everyone has to stand up and watch their feet and fingers.  The guilt is just too much to bear.  And, let’s face it.  We live in the Bible Belt with enough guilt as it is.

We are now carrying these wine glasses (brace yourself – this is impressive) made of Tritan crystal, which simply means they’re the right collection to enjoy on a daily basis.

Tritan is a world-wide patented crystal glass material and manufacturing process; it’s a 2 step process with blown Tritan crystal bowls and pressed crystal stems.

In the 1990′s, as the glass industry struggled with the environmental issues of lead and other heavy metals in crystal, the company was the first glassmaker to produce lead-free crystal glass of superb quality and brilliance. Schott Zwiesel created Tritan Crystal in 2001 by adding titanium oxide and zirconium oxide to develop The World’s Best Crystal Glass.

Tritan Crystal is 100-percent dishwasher safe-it will not etch, cloud or discolor for the life of the glass.

Despite bumps, clinks and even a few shocking knock-overs onto the granite counter-top, they survive! The glasses perform well with a range of different wines too.

If you ask me, when I’m ready for a glass of wine what I’m really telling you is I want to feel relaxed.  If I spill my glass (alcohol abuse), I don’t want to then abuse myself for misspent dollars on glasses that easily break.

It’s brunching season.  Mimosa season.  Sweet tea season.  Even “big kids” need an unbreakable glass for sipping.

Open on Sundays!

Hey hey! We’re open on Sundays now through the holiday season. So come on by! 1-5pm! It’s gonna be a blast!

Also, you should totally take advantage of our curbside service. Call us, tell us what you want, we’ll wrap it and you can drive by and pick it up! How simple is that?!

Beware of Fish

We have two new additions to our family.  No, Zulu and Susannah didn’t have another set of TWINS!  They’re FISH!  Queenie and Squirt are two Betta fish that live in our store.  They love to be spoken to, but do not necessarily enjoy their glass home tickled with the booming sounds of fingernails.  If you go to the lip of the medium Nemo fish vase where they live and you speak to them, they squirm and squiggle and seemingly heel to the sound of your encouragement!

They’re very, very sweet.  As much as we want to pet them or Honey,-We-Shrunk-ourselves and get in and swim with them, we can’t.  It’s not healthy for the little guys and, in the 2nd case, not possible!  However, we do enjoy telling them about our weekend and asking them about ours.  You shouldn’t worry about our staff until we blog and tell you that they’ve started talking back!  Til then, we’re just enjoying the view.

Queenie is very Liberachi-esque.  He is mostly vibrant red with streaks of purple and gold.  Squirt is black and blue and very ink-like.  In a store full of wonderful things, it’s nice to have guard-fish.   I wonder if we could make tridents small enough for these little guys…
