Beware of Fish

We have two new additions to our family. No, Zulu and Susannah didn’t have another set of TWINS! They’re FISH! Queenie and Squirt are two Betta fish that live in our store. They love to be spoken to, but do not necessarily enjoy their glass home tickled with the booming sounds of fingernails. If you go to the lip of the medium Nemo fish vase where they live and you speak to them, they squirm and squiggle and seemingly heel to the sound of your encouragement!

They’re very, very sweet. As much as we want to pet them or Honey,-We-Shrunk-ourselves and get in and swim with them, we can’t. It’s not healthy for the little guys and, in the 2nd case, not possible! However, we do enjoy telling them about our weekend and asking them about ours. You shouldn’t worry about our staff until we blog and tell you that they’ve started talking back! Til then, we’re just enjoying the view.

Queenie is very Liberachi-esque. He is mostly vibrant red with streaks of purple and gold. Squirt is black and blue and very ink-like. In a store full of wonderful things, it’s nice to have guard-fish. I wonder if we could make tridents small enough for these little guys…
